On Friday, May 8, 2026, Brigitte Labelle, CEO of Shockform Aéronautique Inc., was elected to the Strategic and Operational Council (SOC) of Aéro Montréal to represent the perspective of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within Québec’s aerospace industry.

For 20 years, Shockform has evolved within Québec’s and international aerospace and defence ecosystems through the development of portable manual peening solutions and specialized training designed for complex maintenance environments.

From restricted-access areas and FOD-less operations to corrosion prevention and stress-fatigue mitigation on critical aerospace components, Shockform’s work has remained closely connected to the realities faced by maintenance teams in the field.

Who is Brigitte Labelle and what does she bring to Aéro Montréal’s Strategic and Operational Council?

Working alongside OEMs, MROs, airlines, defence organizations and maintenance professionals has shaped the company’s field-driven approach to innovation, where traceability, process control and adaptability remain central to long-term performance and reliability.

For Brigitte Labelle, this involvement with Aéro Montréal reflects years of collaboration and ongoing conversations across the aerospace industry. Her goal is to bring her expertise in innovation, international development and technical governance to support the expansion of Québec aerospace companies, strengthen the supply chain, and advance the cluster’s global reach. Staying close to operational challenges and supporting maintenance teams in demanding environments has long influenced Shockform’s perspective on innovation, training and industry development.

Why does SME representation matter in Québec’s aerospace cluster?

“SMEs bring an important operational perspective to the aerospace industry. We are often closely connected to manufacturing realities, maintenance environments, export challenges and applied innovation. This proximity allows us to contribute practical discussions grounded in real operational needs,” says Brigitte Labelle, CEO of Shockform.

What is the significance of this appointment for Québec aerospace in 2026?

This appointment comes at a pivotal time as Aéro Montréal oversees the development of Espace Aéro, Québec’s new international aerospace innovation zone. Her involvement ensures that the operational agility of SMEs remains a cornerstone of this long-term industrial project. This involvement also carries symbolic significance: both Shockform Aéronautique Inc. and Aéro Montréal were founded in 2006 and have evolved alongside Québec’s aerospace ecosystem over the past two decades.

As part of her role on the Strategic and Operational Council, Brigitte Labelle will contribute to discussions and initiatives supporting the continued growth and evolution of Québec’s aerospace industry.
