The right type depends on the intensity range of your process. The A strip covers the most common range across the industry, N strips are used for lower-intensity applications, and C strips for higher-intensity ones.

Bulk strips have the same specifications, flatness, and hardness as their standard counterparts. The only difference is quantity: bulk packaging is a cost-effective option for shops running high-volume verification.

The gage itself measures arc height independently of the holder used during peening. The right holder depends on your machine setup and how many strips you peen at once. For a single strip, HP or HTM holders are standard. For simultaneous verification, the HTM-3 holds three strips at once.

Almen strips are made of hardened, rolled steel and don’t expire in the traditional sense. However, proper storage matters: strips should be kept dry and free of corrosion to preserve their flatness. If strips have been stored for an extended period, we recommend verifying flatness before use.
